Chicago, IL, September 3, 2026 — The Society of Actuaries (SOA) approves five SOA Centers of Actuarial Excellence (CAE) university actuarial programs to offer University-Earned Credit (UEC). These universities include the University of California at Santa Barbara; Bayes Business School – City St George’s, University of London; the University of Michigan; Ohio State University; and Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, BC. The UEC program allows university students the opportunity to earn credit for the Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation, when they attain a required score on university coursework.
With the addition of these five universities, there are 29 CAE programs at universities worldwide that are approved to offer UEC from the SOA. UEC approved CAE programs are located in Australia, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and the United State.
