SOA Awards
The Society of Actuaries (SOA) Awards recognize outstanding contributions that help advance the actuarial profession. Here are a few of the ways we honor excellence across the SOA community.
Education & Research Awards
SOA offers two awards for self-nomination: the SOA Actuarial Science Early Career Research Award that has been offered since 2021, and the SOA Outstanding Educator Award that began in 2024. Each has unique eligibility requirements that are outlined on their respective webpages. The application period is open from February 15 until April 30, 2026.
SOA Actuarial Science Early Career Research Award

SOA Outstanding Educator Award

Volunteer Awards
Inclusion Champion Award
The SOA honors individuals making important strides in championing inclusion efforts across the profession. See the 2025 recipients of the DEI Champion Award. Nominations for this award are open from April 20, 2026 through June 5, 2026. Click here for more information on the nomination process.
The title has been updated to the Inclusion Champion Award to emphasize our commitment to creating a more inclusive profession for all and celebrating the individuals who help us get there.
Lifetime Volunteer Awards
This award honors long-time volunteers for their continued support and mentorship within the SOA and the actuarial profession. See the 2025 recipient of the Lifetime Volunteer Award. Outstanding Volunteer Award
The SOA recognizes volunteers for their outstanding dedication, team collaboration and effective communication, leadership and their inspiration to others. Societal Purpose Awards
Spotlight Societal Purpose Award
The SOA Spotlight Societal Purpose Award is dedicated to recognizing the extraordinary contributions of candidates, members, affiliates, and employers who are leaders in championing community involvement for positive purpose. See the 2025 recipients of the Spotlight Societal Purpose Awards. To nominate someone, please click the link for the Award below:
- Member Spotlight Societal Purpose Award – Nominees must be an Individual SOA Member who has been nominated for their community efforts over the past 24 months.
- Affiliate Spotlight Societal Purpose Award – Nominees must be an SOA Affiliate Member that has passed at least two SOA exams and has been nominated for their community efforts over the past 24 months.
- Employer Spotlight Societal Purpose Award – Nominees must be an employer of at least two or more SOA members that have been nominated for community efforts organized through the employer over the past 24 months.

Distinguished Service Award
