Chicago, IL, September 23, 2026 — The Society of Actuaries (SOA) has announced one new SOA Center of Actuarial Excellence (CAE), the actuarial program at Lebanon Valley College, Annville, PA. The SOA launched the CAE designation in 2009 to recognize universities around the world that offer outstanding actuarial programs.
With the addition of Lebanon Valley College, there are now 45 CAE universities spanning four continents, with 24 in the U.S., five in Australia, nine in Canada, two in China, two in Hong Kong, one in Singapore, and two in the United Kingdom.
To qualify for the CAE designation, actuarial programs must meet eight main criteria, along with other requirements. The criteria encompass appropriate degree and curriculum offerings, graduate count, faculty composition, quality of graduates, appropriate integration with other areas of study, connection to industry, and research and professional involvement. Universities retain the CAE designation for five years, after which renewal is subject to compliance with the CAE criteria. Learn more about the SOA’s CAE program.
