York University is proud to host the 2025 Actuarial Research Conference (ARC), which will take place from Tuesday, July 29, through Friday, August 1, 2025.

As one of the most anticipated events in the actuarial research community, ARC provides a platform for scholars, industry professionals and regulators to exchange ideas, present cutting-edge research and discuss the latest developments in actuarial science. The conference will feature keynote presentations by distinguished speakers, including leaders from both academia and industry. Over the course of four days, attendees will have the opportunity to engage in a wide range of research presentations, panel discussions and networking events. This conference fosters collaboration between researchers and practitioners, strengthening the connection between theoretical advancements and real-world actuarial applications.

York University, located in Toronto, Canada, is one of the country’s leading institutions of higher education. Its actuarial program has quickly emerged as a vibrant hub for actuarial education and research. Despite being relatively young, the program has achieved the prestigious Center of Actuarial Excellence (CAE) designation, a testament to its dedication to academic rigor, industry collaboration and innovative research. Recognized for producing highly skilled graduates and contributing to cutting-edge actuarial advancements, the program offers a dynamic learning environment that equips students with the knowledge and experience needed to excel in the evolving actuarial profession. In addition, the actuarial program benefits from a strong partnership with the Risk and Insurance Studies Centre (RISC), further enhancing its research and practical application in the field. This collaboration promotes interdisciplinary approaches to risk management, insurance and actuarial science, fostering impactful research and offering students unique opportunities for academic and professional growth. With a strong emphasis on academic excellence, industry partnerships and community engagement, York’s actuarial program continues to build its reputation on both national and global stages.

Toronto is a dynamic and multicultural city, serving as a major center for finance, insurance and technology in Canada. As one of North America’s most diverse cities, it offers a rich cultural experience, with world-class museums, theaters and music venues. Conference attendees will have the opportunity to explore the city’s vibrant neighborhoods, renowned restaurants and iconic landmarks such as the CN Tower, the Royal Ontario Museum and the Distillery District.

As part of the event, we are planning activities to enhance the experience for attendees. One such highlight is a visit to the historic Casa Loma, a stunning castle-style landmark that offers breathtaking views of the city and a glimpse into Toronto’s rich history. These activities will provide a unique opportunity for participants to unwind and connect outside of the formal conference setting.

We look forward to welcoming you to the 2025 ARC at York University. Whether you are presenting your research, engaging in discussions or simply enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of Toronto, we are confident that this conference will be an enriching and memorable experience for all attendees.
