Electronic Health Records, or EHRs, are a major worldwide initiative to eliminate paper recordings – including the Attending Physician Statements (APSs) – of an individual’s medical history and current treatment. Tens of billions of dollars have been spent by the private and public sectors to fulfill the mandate of converting paper recordkeeping into fully digital records, and especially the ability to transfer records, or interoperability.
