Effective with the February 2021 administration of the Introduction to General Insurance Exam, there will be two major changes:

  1. The syllabus will be updated to reflect changes in the insurance industry over the past several years. While the learning objectives have not changed and many of the learning outcomes are also unchanged, there are updates to the readings in support of those objectives and outcomes.
  2. The exam will be administered through The Institutes and not the SOA. Information will be provided regarding registration procedures. The exam will be conducted at Prometric Test Centers.

What will not change is that the exam will continue to be offered four times per year, be 90 minutes in length, and contain 60 multiple-choice questions. There will also continue to be instant, unofficial, results provided. Questions may be addressed to education@soa.org.
