The Operational, Financial, Regulatory and Legal course is the second part of the two-course sequence in the General Insurance practice area.
Course Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of GI 201 Operational, Financial, Regulatory and Legal, you will understand the following learning objectives:
- The structure and functions of a general insurance company;
- The regulatory environment for general insurance;
- Tort law and insurance law with respect to general insurance;
- Elements of financial economics relevant to general insurance;
- The elements of financial reporting for general insurance companies;
- The analysis of a general insurer’s financial health; and
- The standards of practice and professionalism required of the actuary.
